Fatima Zahra

She was born in Mecca around 614 (Shi'a tradition). In 624, she was married to her father's cousin, Ali ibn Abi Talib.
Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed was survived by two sons, second Shi’a Imam Hassan ibn Ali and third Shi’a Imam Hussain ibn Ali and two daughters, Umm Khultum binte Ali and Zaynab binte Ali.
Umar al-Khattab was one of Abu Bakr's most zealous supporters. He led a party of armed men against Ali ibn Abu Talib's house in Medina and called for Ali ibn Abu Talib and his men to come out and swear allegiance. He threatened to burn the house down if they did not submit.
Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed stopped Ali ibn Abu Talib from going outside of the house because she wanted to defend the first Imam. When a person attacks Rasulullah it is the responsibility of an Imam to defend and help the Rasulullah (like Ali ibn Abu Talib did during the hard times faced by Islamic Prophet Mohammed) but when someone attacks an Imam then it the responsibility of a Shi’a to help and defend the Imam (this is the reason why Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed stopped Ali ibn Abu Talib from facing the enemies). When Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed faced Umar al-Khattab and his soldiers, she faced them as a Shi’a not as the wife of Ali ibn Abu Talib.
Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed was talking to Umar and his men while she was standing behind the door of her house. Umar al-Khattab and his men pushed the door Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed was standing behind, and when the door was pushed open suddenly, she was crushed between the wall and door. This caused her severe injury. She was pregnant at the time and she miscarried a son whom the Shi'as call Al Muhsin.
Fatima Zahra binte Mohammed did not survive long after the demise of her father. According to the Shi'as, before her death she made these requests of first Shi’a Imam Ali ibn Abu Talib:
• O Ali, you will personally perform my funeral rites.
• Those who have displeased me should not be allowed to attend my funeral.
• My corpse should be carried to the graveyard at night.
Ali ibn Abu Talib did as she wished: she was buried at night, and accompanied to the grave by her relatives and sons. The burial was done secretly, so that Abu Bakr and Umar could not attend.
